Whenever I’ve had dialog with my vet, it’s been a lot of telling the receptionist what’s going on and then the doctors get back to me later about what they think is going on and what can be done. The problem I’ve had is those phone calls have always come right before bedtime. Not ideal. This has forced me to go with a strict do not disturb regimen, so I know of nothing going on even while my phone is in my hand.
