God’s work is to feed the hungry. Then we can rebuild Notre Dame

How strange and perhaps awful that financial contributions flow more quickly to restore a building’s glory than to restore a city’s water (Flint, Mich.) or children’s full bellies (any number of underfunded projects to defeat hunger).

Indeed, we seem to be more intrigued by material symbols of progress than actual progress. But, if you really want to rebuild churches, how about the black churches burned across the South?
